Create a Living Room Space that Your Family will Love

At Capitol Carpet & Tile and Window Fashions, we are the premier flooring and design experts for Palm Beach, Broward, and Martin Counties.

With deep roots in our local community and highly accessible showrooms in Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, and Delray Beach, we have spent decades understanding exactly how South Florida homes handle the demands of everyday life.

Life happens in the living room - game nights, family movie night, forts and play pretend. The living room is one of the highest-traffic rooms in the house and needs flooring to stand up to spills, heavy furniture, pet zoomies, and more - all while providing the comfort homeowners desire at the end of the day when they sit down to relax and watch their favorite shows. That's why we've curated a collection and this recommendation of the perfect living room flooring options to fit any need your family might have.

3 Quick Tips on Choosing the Right Living Room Floors

Account for High Foot Traffic: As the primary crossroads of your home, choose a material with a thick wear layer (for luxury vinyl) or high density (for carpet) to prevent premature wear and unsightly traffic lanes.

Manage Intense Sunlight: South Florida’s strong UV rays can fade flooring over time. Opt for materials with advanced fade-resistant top layers, or pair your floors with protective window treatments from Capitol Carpet & Tile and Window Fashions.

Balance Hard and Soft Surfaces: If you prefer the effortless cleanup of tile or luxury vinyl but still want a cozy atmosphere, plan to layer the space with a bespoke custom area rug to soften the room's acoustics and seating layout.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Luxury vinyl flooring is an outstanding choice for modern living rooms, especially those that anchor open-concept floor plans and connect directly to high-traffic entryways or backyard patios. It is waterproof, highly durable, and completely pet-friendly for homeowners whose dogs or cats claim the sofa as their favorite spot.

Today’s premium luxury vinyl features remarkably realistic wood visuals and textured, matte finishes that mimic sun-bleached driftwood or natural honey maple.

It provides a highly resilient, easy-to-clean surface that stays closer to room temperature than tile, meaning it won't pull the heat right out of your bare feet on a relaxing evening at home.
